The Angry Black Woman: A Play

Does she look like an angry black woman to you?

Women of color often have to navigate harmful  and offensive gender and racial pejoratives and stereotypes in society and the workplace.

What is an "angry black woman"? Who is an "angry black woman"?

This play will explore these critical questions, as well examine pejoratives and stereotypes about women of other races and ethnicities. This play will also focus on how people of color engage in and perpetuate stereotypes against other people of color, especially in the workplace.

Whomever or whatever an "angry black woman" is...

she is usually not who or what people think.

Synopsis

The Angry Black Woman: Navigating Race and Gender Politics in Society and the Workplace. A black woman will be the main character, but women of other races/ethnicities will be discussed as well. This play will have interactive features to allow for audience participation, as well as practical tips to help people be more aware of their biases and how to mitigate them.
